The Sueve is a newly built general cargo vessel that recently completed her sea trials and is now preparing for full operation. The vessel sails under the Portuguese flag, is owned by Junquera Maritima, and was constructed at Royal Thecla Bodewes Shipyard in Kampen, the Netherlands.
As part of the newbuild, Marble Automation was responsible for the delivery and integration of the vessel’s automation systems. The scope of supply included:
- PLCs and I/O cards
- Network switches and converters
- 15 inch maritime approved Exor HMIs
- Emergency Telegraph (MS325)
These form the foundation of a custom Alarm Monitoring and Control System (AMCS), developed specifically for this project. The AMCS provides:
- A configurable alarm monitoring system, adaptable to the vessel’s operational requirements
- A tank overview display that can be easily configured and updated by the crew
- Integration with the vessel’s UMS (Unmanned Machinery System), including MS2006 extensions
- Full integration of the Aventics ballast and bilge system, allowing operation and control from multiple locations on board
The system has been designed to provide reliable day-to-day operation while offering flexibility for crew and operators. By combining alarm handling, tank management, unmanned machinery functionality, and ballast/bilge operation into one central platform, the AMCS ensures efficient and practical monitoring and control across the vessel.
The successful installation on the Sueve demonstrates Marble Automation’s ability to deliver tailored automation solutions that match both shipyard and operator requirements.
