The delivery of the cement carrier Jorvik by the Royal Bodewes shipyard marks another successful project for Marble Automation. As a sister ship to the Molvik, the Jorvik features a proven automation package, ensuring consistency and reliability for the fleet. Marble Automation provided the automationengineering and installation of the ship’s vital monitoring and control systems.
The heart of the installation is the alarm system, which monitors all critical processes on board and provides the crew with clear, immediate alerts. In addition to this, Marble Automation delivered a separate Unmanned Machinery Space (UMS) system. This specific system allows the vessel to operate safely while the engine room is unattended.
A key highlight of the Marble Automation system is the dedicated tank measurement page. This interface includes advanced trim correction, which automatically adjusts tank level readings based on the ship’s position in the water. For a specialized vessel like a cement carrier, this precision is vital. It ensures that the crew always has accurate data during loading and unloading, making these operations much safer and more efficient.
In addition to the alarm and tank systems, Marble Automation integrated several other essential tools. These include depth measurement, a ballast and bilge system, and a custom power page. The power page offers a direct and easy-to-read overview of the vessel’s electrical status. By bringing all this information together, Marble Automation provides a user-friendly environment that gives the crew full control over the ship’s most important functions.
