Wagenborg recently added a new fast ferry to its fleet: the Hiddeborg. Marble Automation worked together with Van Tiem Elektro to deliver and install the technical systems on board this vessel.
The Hiddeborg is a fast ferry used for transport to the Wadden Islands. For this type of ship, it is important that all systems are easy to operate and work together reliably. In cooperation with Van Tiem Elektro, Marble Automation provided the automation and control systems to make this possible.
We installed a complete package of monitoring and control tools. Our goal was to make sure the crew can check all important functions from one central place. The following systems were delivered and installed:
-
Alarm system: This system monitors all technical parts of the ship and warns the crew if there is a problem.
-
Tank reading: A clear display of all liquid levels in the tanks.
-
Mastervolt integration: We connected the Mastervolt power equipment to our main system so the crew can read the status easily.
-
Lighting and control: Systems to control the lights on board and the heating. Remote control for the bilge pumps and the firefighting installation.

A key part of this project is the MS225. This is a product developed by Marble Automation. It is used to control and monitor the navigation lights of the ship. The MS225 ensures that the navigation lights are always working correctly. If a lamp fails, the system gives a warning immediately. It is a compact and reliable controller that is now used on many different types of ships worldwide.
By combining these different systems into one interface, the Hiddeborg is easier to operate. We thank NG Shipyards and Van Tiem Elektro for the good cooperation on this project and wish the crew of the Hiddeborg safe travels.
