Tank and draft measurement
Know exactly what is in every tank.
Marble Automation offers a flexible tank measurement system for every type of vessel. Fuel, fresh water, ballast water, lube oil or sludge: every tank level is measured and shown clearly, in volume, level and percentage.
The system works on its own or as part of the Marble alarm, monitoring and control system. Combined with trim correction and draft measurement, the tank levels stay correct, also when the vessel is not lying level.

One system for every tank on board
From a few day tanks to a complete ballast system, the tank measurement grows with the vessel.
Flexible tank measurement
Any number of tanks, any tank shape. Each tank gets its own calibration table, so volume and level always match the real tank.
Trim correction
When the vessel lies under trim, a sensor on one side of the tank shows the wrong level. Trim correction calculates the real content of the tank.
For all types of liquids
Fuel, fresh water, ballast water, lube oil, hydraulic oil, sludge and bilge water. The right sensor is chosen for every liquid.
Valves and control
Combine the tank measurement with the valve system, to fill, empty and transfer tanks from one screen, with the tank levels in view.
Pneumatic tank sounding
Tank measurement is also possible with pneumatic tank sounding, based on the bubble principle, with the MS808 tank sounding unit.
Draft measurement
Draft sensors show how the vessel lies in the water. Together with trim measurement this gives the actual level in every tank.
Tanks and valves in one overview
Tank measurement and valve control belong together. When both are connected, the crew sees on one screen which valves are open, which pumps are running and how the tank levels change while filling or transferring.
Integrated in the Marble alarm monitoring system, every tank also gets its own alarms, for example for a high or low level. So an overflowing tank or an empty day tank never comes as a surprise.
Draft and trim for the real tank level
Draft sensors at the bow and stern, and if needed at both sides midships, show how the vessel lies in the water. From these values the system calculates the trim and the heel of the vessel.
The tank measurement uses this information to correct every tank level. So the crew always knows the actual content of each tank, also during loading and unloading, when the vessel is not lying level.
For tanks with pneumatic sounding, the MS808 tank sounding unit measures the level with air, without sensors inside the tank.
